Shopping in the Panic Society.
Shopping during the 20th Century was a very dangerous
experience. If you wanted anything, it was necessary to shop for
it. You had to shop around to avoid paying too much for
something.
There were many ways to shop. You could go down to the mall,
you could go to the corner store, a salesperson could come to
your house, you could shop by phone or mail order. There was even
a shop by the TV channel.
All those methods were very dangerous. You could end up
paying too much and get junk from any of those methods.
Going to the mall or corner store was very dangerous. People
could get injured of killed on the trip down or back. People were
robbed, mugged, murdered, raped, etc. even in those stores. They
were often pushed, shoved, spit on, cussed, and often had to talk
to rude, dishonest salespeople. You could slip and fall in the
stores. People brought along their spoiled kids. You could have
your kid kidnapped or molested by someone while at the store. You
could also be accused of molesting or kidnapping someone elses
kid.
One Saginaw resident was accused of shoplifting and spent 2
1/2 years in prison. He never left the store with the items he
was supposed to have stolen. After he was cleared by appeal, He
was retried on the original charges 4 years later.
Eli Bradley Jr. of Jackson, Mi. was arrested for sampling
grapes at a produce counter in a supermarket. He was convicted as
a felon on that charge. A little girl was badly injured in a K-
mart when a pipe bomb hidden in a toothpaste carton exploded.
(April 17, 1989 Indianapolis, Ind.)
The stores themselves were dangerous to be in. Many people
were injured in a store in Texas when the roof fell in on them.
Several shoppers were badly injured January 30,1990, when the
roof of Dexters Dept. store in Maine fell in on them. A woman was
killed and 12 other people were injured when the ceiling of a
croissant shop fell in on them.
In New York, on October 30, 1989 many shoppers and store
personnel were injured by gangs of teen boys that broke windows,
assaulted shoppers, and generally trashed the stores. This
attacks occurred during daylight hours.
In Sacramento, California, 4 people were killed and several
injured when they were taken hostage by gang members in a local
electronics store.
The products themselves were also dangerous. Several people
died when they bought Tylnol capsules that had been tampered
with. Hundreds of people in the Chicago area got salmonella
poisoning when they bought and use the milk sold at their local
supermarket. Milk was found to contain traces of sulfa drugs and
antibiotics that had been fed to the dairy cattle. Perrier
Bottled water was found to contain traces of Benzene, a cancer
causing chemical. Grapes imported from Chile during January of
1989 were found to have been poisoned with cyanide. Over the
counter medicines were tampered with. Food was found spoiled.
Glass and other hazardous things could be found in baby food.
Packaged clothing are filled with sharp pins. 34 people got very
sick and 2 died after they caught Legionnaires disease from the
produce counter. This happened during the fall of 89 at the
supermarket at Bogalusa, La.
When the Legionnaire disease report was released on January
10,1990, all the store managers panicked and pulled the plug on
all vegetable misters. (The original problem occurred from
failure of that store to follow the manufacturer's instruction of
proper maintenance and cleaning of that unit.)
Over 15 Diet Pepsi cans were found to contain syringes in
June of 1993 all over the country. The evil company got out of
this when they convinced authorities that the people making the
claims tampered with the cans themselves.
Sales people often came to the door or called you on the
phone and tried to pressure you into buying something that you
didn't need. Their products were often of poor quality and
extremely overpriced. When something went wrong with those
products, they were nowhere around.
People could pose as a salesperson. Once in your house, they
could rob, rape, or kill you.
Even worse, was the following events that happened one week
in Saginaw in December 1989.
Delivery men from a company called United freight started
knocking on doors to deliver parcels from some pre Christmas
contest. Once the homeowner stepped outside, the delivery men
turned out to be police who then hauled off those people to jail.
The gifts were nothing more then bricks in the boxes.
Shopping by mail order was very hazardous. Merchandise was
offered at a bargain price. It often took six weeks or longer to
get delivered. Sometimes, it never came at all. On those cases,
the company took your money and vanished into bankruptcy. In many
cases, the stuff was junk. Sometimes, the purchase and, or
possession of the merchandise being offered is illegal. Often,
the police were minutes behind the delivery trucks with a warrant
for your arrest. Hundreds have been arrested for possession of
pornographic materials minutes after they had received such
materials through the mail.
A lady in California faces prison charges for using coupons
that she had bought through a mail order company. She did not
know that the coupons were fake.
July, 1993 found a lot of people trying to sell fireworks in
Michigan. They had legally bought them through the mail, or,
purchased them out of state. Police in Genesee county promptly
raided all of the stands, declared their fireworks illegal, and
arrested everyone.
In some foreign countries it was even worse. In the
communist nations such as Russia, people had to wait in long
lines for hours just to buy basic food staples. Often that food
was of poor quality. It was a common practice to have to use a
ration card to buy any of that garbage. Black marketing and
bribery were common practices.
It was very easy to spend money on any of those methods of
shopping. The preferred method of cash was quite dangerous as
someone could rob you of all of your money before you had a
chance to spend it. Personal check was a difficult method of
paying for something. You had to wait in long lines and go
through embarrassing credit checking before your personal check
was approved.
The credit card was the most preferred. With it, you could
go on wild spending sprees. Many shoppers did just that. Then,
they were faced with a huge bill that had anywhere from 18 to 22%
interest charges tacked onto the balance. A lot of people went
bankrupt due to those loanshark rates charged by the credit card
companies.
In the Panic Society, no one ever has to go shopping. Your
shopping is done for you through your computer.
Since there are few things needed, there will be no
confusion deciding which item will do the job or if it's needed.
Quality and prices are fixed by Your Glorious Leaders. You
do not need to shop around for quality and price.
The only items ever needed are, food, water, recyclable
clothing and your Super Safe House.
Everything is delivered to your super safe house by robo
units.
Is this all possible?
Yes, with cable or phone shopping, you could buy everything
you need by mail order or phone.
In Russia, there is no confusion over quality and price over
hundreds of brands. Just like in the Panic Society, There is one
brand, one price. Quality, brand and price are controlled by the
central government. The price is fixed, the items are scarce, and
the quality is poor. This includes all basic staples such as
bread, meat, potatoes, etc.
Socialism doesn't work. Ask the people in the Communist
nations about the poor quality and shortage of consumer goods
over there. Yet, Your Glorious Leaders insist that "The right
people were not in control."
